North Wales Holiday Park hosts GMTV £10,000 Give Away
GMTV’s Keith ‘Cheggers’ Chegwin visited the award winning Brynteg Holiday Park in Snowdonia.
As part of a £10,000 giveaway tour of the UK, one of only 2 destinations being visited in North Wales.
Over 300 holiday makers were delighted to be entertained by ‘Cheggers’ as he encouraged many of them to perform all sorts of acts during the programme, giving the audience plenty of fun.
Manager of Brynteg, Ken Roberts, who drew the winner for the £10,000 prize, said, “Keith Chegwin was on very good form, he’s a great entertainer and the audience were fantastic. Everyone had such a good time.” Cheggers commented, “Brynteg is the best holiday park we’ve visited; we have never seen anything like it before.”
Brynteg, which is part of the Talacre Beach Group of parks, is no stranger to hosting celebrities. Over the years it has featured many times on Granada Reports and has also been the setting for several episodes of Coronation Street when Jack, Vera and the Platts went on holiday.

Brynteg Holiday Home Park in Llanrug has proved itself to be ‘on the ball’ as the winner of a new award from leading LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) supplier Calor - the Calor Visit Wales ‘Best Newcomer’ award. Brynteg was selected as the winner of the Calor award because of its outstanding facilities and first class customer service levels.
Andrew Davies, Welsh Assembly Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, concluded: “Brynteg Holiday Home Park is to be congratulated for its drive to raise standards of service and the quality of its facilities. This is the key to remaining competitive in an increasingly keen global market. Winning the Calor award must be a huge fillip for Brynteg as well as being a ringing endorsement of the Visit Wales grading scheme whose touchstone is all-round quality.”

Brynteg Holiday Home Park has been announced winners of the coveted '2004 Wales in Bloom' award. Caravan parks throughout Wales trying to show off their blooming flower displays enter the competition, and Brynteg have been recognised as being the best! Their seasonal displays are a credit to the dedicated team of staff that look after the landscaped grounds, so well done to them for achieving another accolade! Keep up the good work!
Brynteg was awarded 'Best Park in Britain' in 2002
Brynteg Holiday Home Park has been recognised as the best holiday home park in Britain in a prestigious competition sponsored by Calor Gas and supported by the Wales tourist board caravan park grading scheme. The award, which involves inspection by independent experts, covers facilities, quality, customer service, appearance and staff training as well as commitment to the local community. The trophy was presented to Operations Director James D. McAllister, at an award ceremony at the RAC Club in London by Alex Davies, Sales and Marketing Director of Calor Gas.
Rain Didn’t Stop Radio Play
When BBC Radio Manchester’s Linda Kaye arrived at Brynteg Holiday Home Park in Llanrug recently to record some interviews for inclusion in the BBC Radio’s Holiday Programme’ she was delighted that the rain had not dampened the staff or holidaymakers’ spirits!
Linda said, ‘Everyone I interviewed was just ‘ so happy to be there’ and there’s so much to do and the scenery is so stunning whatever the weather!
